Lady's Nightmare

She lived in silent places
saw the many blurred faces
that walked within her vision
in her once secure prison.

She rested in protection,
a world of her selection
no joy, pain nonexistent
no care, her heart resistant.

She walked in golden meadows
streaked in sunlight and shadows,
sat by babbling mountain streams
with lovers she nightly dreamed.

Then he breached the hard held walls
beckoned with his siren calls
soul content with folded wings,
surrounded by her guarding rings.

Her heart he took in honesty
and cradled it so lovingly,
sent caring with gentle hand,
filled with dreams her faerie land.

And the music filled the air,
lighted life with rainbows fair
then he wrapped in warmth her heart,
in happiness her soul starred.

And passion he softly stirred,
from haven he gently lured,
with whispers pushed her to flight
then silently walked into night.

Now she stands within her mind,
broken all the strands that bind
and pain her only feeling,
no answer to her kneeling

No lovers she makes in token
the faerie land stands broken
and the ever nightly dreams
dripping red of blood in streams.©
