LOST WITHOUT YOUR LOVE - Bread
Karaoke by Raphael Pungin raphael@cnct.com

DESTINY

With my practiced art I illuminated
all the fantasies and dreams
and persisted in worlds that culminated
in self lies and artful schemes

Still I wrote of lovers that I created
as though we were what we seemed
and I sang of love and hope and waited
in fate's still unlit moonbeams

My abode was times illusionary,
the beaches of gentle breeze,
and pictures of lovers visionary
to calm my storm tossed seas.

I painted Knight of heartfilled chivalry
who would take me on his steed,
and then he'd vanquish heart's strong rivalry
between fear of hurt and need.

The Knight I captured rode into my world,
and I dared my fate with dream,
that the Knight I saw, would a man unfurl,
that was all I thought I'd seen.

And he was strength and love and protectiveness,
and my hope and spirit's need,
and we walked together in forgetfulness
of passion's blossoming seed.

I struggled fiercely to keep illusion
that the future would be ours,
and to ban from mind life's cruel intrusion,
and hope for fate's strong powers.

But the dreams we walked, I now walk alone
consumed in passionate fire.
He is my soul, my still unwritten poem,
my lust and my desire.

And each day I dress in the words he sees,
his soul's fervid litany,
a written page of his reality,
his bond, his waiting destiny.©
