SUNLIGHT and SHADOWS

To wander fragrant meadows
to ponder crystal mountain streams,
creating our sunlight and shadows
living both reality and dreams,

To trod the earth's solidity
to long for unknown space,
stand center, search periphery,
grasp steel, dream of lace,

This, the hurt and hope of mankind,
ever to seek, seldom to find.

OUR CHOICE?

If, as some remark,
the choice is ours of life,
then in conference stark,
I was in mental strife;
for no man sane
desires pain,
or chooses to atone,
everlastingly alone.
