WHO?

Frustration, anger, rage:
turned against whom?
Who unbalanced page
and left me lonely doom?

Who chose and with what right,
this so-called life I lead,
this always empty night,
who with thoughtless power decreed?

A cage of bars surround
invisible though they be,
and lonely I am bound
to a life of hungry need. © 1070s

DAMNED

You ask, your touch would I refuse
if we meet in coming years?
Re-awak'ning love I would choose
though it revive heartache and tears.

I am yours forever, ever damned
to memory that will not die,
your are me, are what I am
and in dreams with you I lie.

Perhaps all wounds time will heal,
but only if memory fades,
and you are me and I'll always feel
painful love, 'til hair has grayed.

Without you I'm a cup half-filled
left upon a shadowed shelf
waiting for torment to be  softly stilled
by my love, my other self. © 1970s
