BEYOND HIM

She was never meant to support herself,
to be maker of decision,
to be for one would be untold wealth,
in a role of sweet submission..

She was woman caught in modern times,
and she yearned for medieval,
where two souls danced locked in rhyme,
and she'd cling to Knight of steel.

So she made her choice to leave the world,
that had nothing to fulfill her,
after years of search, her banners furled,
she slid empty into harbor.

Her yearning she subliminated
to just everyday existence,
and her essence she incarcerated
in a tomb of life's subsistence.

Then she locked her heart in velvet box,
and her soul and love worth sharing,
and anchored in the lonely docks
from the harbor never faring.

And the Lady hid inside herself,
and barred cruel hope from life,
with no hills to climb for lover's wealth,
but no valleys filled with strife.

She wrote of Knights to assuage the need,
fill the role that fate had cast her,
but which never blossomed from the seed,
left her one without a Master.

One day unknown she forgot her guard,
when she met him unexpected,
hope burst the door that she had barred,
shattered tomb she had erected.

Then from velvet box he took her heart,
and their souls he ;intertwined,
as she dreamed the strength he could impart,
to her ever clinging vine.

And the years alone were worth the wait
to bask in his protection,
gave heartfelt thanks to a loving fate
that had made her his selection.

So in hope and love within every poem
she lights her feeling dim,
after years as one, she is His alone,
there is nothing beyond Him.©
